Jimmie was born on October 20, 1966, in Decatur, Illinois, and completed his secondary education there. He is Baptist by faith. He is retired from the United States Army after completing 31 and a half years of combined service as a Senior Medical Noncommissioned Officer.

Jimmie was initiated into Masonry in July 1991 in Sun Lodge No. 629, where he served as Senior Warden. In 2000, he was elected Worshipful Master of Sunset Lodge No. 76. He became a Royal Arch Mason in May 2001 and has served as Treasurer and King for five terms. Over the years, Jimmie has also served as Eminent Commander, Associate Patron, Royal Advisor, and Assistant Raban.

He currently serves as Deputy Master of R&SM, DDGC of the Knights Templar, Worthy Patron of OES, 2nd Court Director of HOJ, Royal Deputy Advisor of LOCOP, and Commander-in-Chief (third term) of Rio Grande Consistory No. 24. He is also an active member of the American Legion, NAACP, Phylaxis Society, Scottish Rite Research Society, Order of Temple College, and the York Rite Sovereign College of North America.

Jimmie and his wife, Sonya, have been married for more than 31 years and are the proud parents of two children: their daughter, Janaiya, and their son, Kristian.
